Since 1981, Villa Berulia has been serving delicious Italian and Croatian food in this tuxedo service old-school restaurant tucked away right out in the open on E 34th St. Zagat says, “exceptional hospitality is the strong suit of this Murray Hill family affair that follows through with excellent Italian fare.” The owners offer a warm atmosphere and often personally welcome and thank you. Recommended by many members of our group over the years, it has 4 stars on Yelp and 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor.

This is one of The Single Gourmet’s favorite restaurants, and our menu features Italian and Croatian delicacies such as the Pollo Berulia, a chef’s special of chicken sautéed in white wine with wild mushrooms and artichoke hearts; vegan options are also available.

Appetizers (choice of):

• Calamari Freschi  Crispy
• Minestrone Giardiniera (vegan)  Hearty tomato broth with chopped vegetables & maccheroncini pasta
• Insalata di Spinaci  Fresh spinach with bacon, stuffed mushrooms & extra virgin olive oil

Entrées (choice of):

• Asparagus Ravioli (vegan)  Asparagus ravioli with lemon and white wine sauce
• Pollo Berulia  Breast of chicken sautéed with white wine, wild mushrooms & artichoke hearts, topped with parma ham & mozzarella
• Buzara  Traditional Dalmatian seafood stew over pasta
• Lamb Shank with gnocchi
• Osso Buco (+$13 supplement)  Braised veal shank, cooked bone-in over rice or gnocchi

Desserts (choice of):

• Ricotta Cheesecake
• Flourless Chocolate Cake
• Lemon Sorbetto

Refund Policy: Sometimes plans unexpectedly change, which we understand. However, restaurants do impose deposit and guarantee requirements when we plan our events, so we have the following generous refund policy (certain events may have different refund policies):

If you cancel:

• 7 days (or more) before a dinner, you may cancel for a full refund or credit, less a $5 cancellation fee
• 4-6 days before a dinner, you will receive a credit toward a future event, less a $10 change fee
• 0-3 days before a dinner (or if you do not show up), no refund or credit

If a dinner or an event is canceled by The Single Gourmet, you will receive a full refund or credit toward a future purchase with no cancellation or change fee.

Ticketed events (tours, shows, and ANY non-dinner event) are non-refundable within 7 days of the event.

Annual membership fees are non-refundable.
